Bordas Renewable Energy LLC is the largest company focused on bringing wind energy to non-coastal South Texas since 2008. We have developed and enabled the construction of five wind projects representing an installed capacity of almost 800 MW’s producing enough electricity to serve almost 250,000 average Texas homes. Dan King

Dan King

Manager

Dan is co-manager and the lead developer for the Bordas’ project portfolio. He is also the CEO for Enerverse, LLC a clean energy development company based in Houston, Texas, and in this capacity runs the day-to-day operations for Bordas. Dan has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry involving the lead development of large North American energy projects. Dan has previously served as Executive Vice President of DKRW Wind running DKRW’s wind business and also as Vice President of Renewable Energy at Constellation Energy Group, a Fortune 200 company based in Baltimore, Maryland. Dan spent 10 years at Constellation where, prior to his role running renewable energy, he led Constellation’s fossil fuel development efforts in the southern United States (including ERCOT) and was Vice President of Origination in Constellation’s commodities business. In these roles, Dan managed large internal and external project development teams that led directly to the development of over 2,500 MW’s of operating generation, including over 1,500 MW of operating generation in ERCOT. In addition, Dan held various business development and marketing positions with GE Energy in their power generation division, including directing sales and commercial oversight for many of GE Energy’s product and business lines. Dan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science from Duke University.

Aaron is co-manager for Bordas and manages its investments in development in South Texas. Aaron also is President and Managing Director for MAP Royalty, Inc., which he joined in 2005 as the founding partner of a team that is responsible for wind deal origination and analysis as well as the management of a portfolio of investments designed to generate royalties from wind energy resources. Since the first investments in wind energy development in 2005, the wind investment practice has deployed more than $350 million in renewable energy investments. Before joining MAP Royalty, Inc., Aaron worked for independent power producer AES Corporation, based in both London and Africa. Through his various roles in business development and financial management, he helped lead the planning, implementation, and financing of $500 million of large energy projects and power plants as well as helping to direct the management and operation of the national utility serving the country of Cameroon. He holds a BS in Earth Systems (concentration Energy) and an MS in Civil Engineering (concentration Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology), both from Stanford University, and is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall.

Eric Stoutenburg

ENGINEERING

Eric manages renewable energy engineering activities to support Bordas’ various energy projects in South Texas. His responsibilities include engineering work associated with project evaluation, development, and due diligence such as met campaign management, wind data analysis, wind flow modeling, layout design, and energy estimates. Eric has been associated with Bordas since 2011 when he was completing his Ph.D in renewable energy integration at Stanford University in Civil and Environmental Engineering. While at Stanford, he completed an internship at Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. on wind integration in California. He has a BS in Aeronautical engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point and served five years as an Infantry officer in the US Army with deployments to Kosovo and Iraq.

INVESTMENTS

Pete manages a broad portfolio of investment activities for Bordas and has been key to the development of the operating Bordas renewable energy projects in South Texas. He also manages all investments for the MAP Royalty, Inc. renewable investment group. Pete’s primary responsibilities include deal origination, analysis, negotiation and documentation, as well as the management of a number of investment joint ventures. Prior to joining MAP's wind investment team, Pete was MAP's Manager of Investor Relations, with responsibilities including fundraising, investor reporting and investor administration. Pete came to MAP after working in the energy technology industry for several years at Itron and Silicon Energy, where he led product management and marketing efforts for software products facilitating transparency between wholesale and retail electricity markets. Pete's background also includes working at Edison International in the strategy and business development group focused on power plant acquisitions and asset optimization in the US and abroad. His experience in energy markets spans across the U.S., the United Kingdom, Brazil and Chile. Pete holds a BS & MS in Civil Engineering, both from Stanford University.

Through this commitment, Bordas has become part of the fabric of the region. In addition to the over $1 billion in capital investment and permanent jobs we have created in South Texas, Bordas has also made it a better place to live and do business for everybody. Our investments in your community add up to almost $8 million in direct community donations.

In addition to all of the above, the Bordas wind projects make royalty payments of approximately $6 million a year to local landowners which, in turn, benefits spending and investment in the local communities where these projects are located.

  • $400,000 contribution to the Bruni Rural Water Supply Corporation for a water filtration system to help improve the water quality in eastern Webb County
  • $1,100,000 contribution to build a one of a kind agricultural and wind energy center for Webb Consolidated Independent School District in Bruni, Texas
  • $250,000 annual contribution from 2010 – 2023 for Higher Education Scholarships
  • $150,000 contribution for the procurement of a mobile intensive care ambulance to be used in rural Webb and Jim Hogg Counties and to reduce emergency response times
  • Contribution to Mirando City Water Supply Corporation for a new regional water pipeline
  • Contribution to the Oilton Rural Water Supply Corporation for a new regional water pipeline
  • $20,000 annual contribution for 5 years for a wind energy-based training program with Webb Consolidated Independent School District
  • $215,000 per year contribution to a community foundation, the Quad City Non Profit Organization, benefiting the Quad Cities region of Webb County
